Job Requirements

  • Preferably, a graduate of the Personal Support Worker program
  • Working with elderly people in retirement homes or long-term care facilities
  • Must have excellent communication abilities, both in writing and speaking
  • Shown aptitude for time management and organization
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-focused abilities
  • Must have proven to possess strong abilities and expertise in providing personal care obligations
  • Current certification in first aid and CPR
  • Need to provide a thorough and up-to-date (within six months) Susceptible
  • Sector Verification (which includes a Criminal Background Verification) or be prepared to get one
  • A negative TB test must be provided (current within 1 year after the test).
  • Fully immunized against COVID-19

Key Responsibilities and Skills

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to our clients.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Prepare meals and help with feeding, if necessary.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry and dishes.
  • Assist with mobility and transfer needs.
  • Monitor clients’ health and report any changes to the care team.
  • Document care activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
