Job Requirements
- Preferably, a graduate of the Personal Support Worker program
- Working with elderly people in retirement homes or long-term care facilities
- Must have excellent communication abilities, both in writing and speaking
- Shown aptitude for time management and organization
- Strong interpersonal and customer-focused abilities
- Must have proven to possess strong abilities and expertise in providing personal care obligations
- Current certification in first aid and CPR
- Need to provide a thorough and up-to-date (within six months) Susceptible
- Sector Verification (which includes a Criminal Background Verification) or be prepared to get one
- A negative TB test must be provided (current within 1 year after the test).
- Fully immunized against COVID-19
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Provide companionship and emotional support to our clients.
- Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Prepare meals and help with feeding, if necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry and dishes.
- Assist with mobility and transfer needs.
- Monitor clients’ health and report any changes to the care team.
- Document care activities and maintain accurate records.
- Build positive relationships with clients and their families.
