Principal Duty

  • Assist in upholding and advocating for the supported person’s rights and choices as needed.
  • Engage in productive dialogue with those we assist.
  • Encourage the individual we are helping to become an active member of their community.
  • Assist the individual in organizing, carrying out, and supporting their involvement in volunteer, career, and social activities within the community.
  • Encourage a person to have good relationships with their family, friends, coworkers, and the community.
  • Take part in the Individual Service Plan’s creation, execution, and recording.
  • Keep track of the individual we support everyday activities and personal health information (PHI) in our case management database.
  • Outstanding comprehension of behavior management techniques and tenets, including requirements for mental health

You’ll possess

  • Education till grade 12
  • Diploma in Community Support Worker or its equivalent
  • Two years at least of experience providing community health and social services
  • Current certifications for food safety and emergency first aid/CPR
  • Training in behavior management
  • Proficiency in both writing and vocal communication with team members, professionals, families, and community members
  • Communication abilities without using words
  • A legitimate driver’s license from British Columbia
  • Dependable car with a satisfactory driver’s abstract and $2,000,000 in third-party liability insurance
  • Clearance of criminal records for minors and vulnerable adults
  • Evidence of current COVID-19 immunization. As of October 26, 2021, all PCCR workers are required by existing Public Health Orders to possess a complete COVID-19 vaccination record.
  • A passable understanding of computers
  • Possibility of employment in Canada
