Objective
- In charge of CPKC Transload Services’ regional delivery across Canada to bolster the company’s high-quality revenue growth.
- Utilizing a network of transload facilities that is constantly growing and improving, provides the best possible service while also providing a solid base for future revenue development and the retention of current CPKC business.
- To provide specialized facility-based transfer and delivery services to handle new commodities, or to build facility-based value-added services beyond the basic transfer and delivery
Responsibilities
- Help CPKC Commercial ensure that CPKC has strong revenue growth.
- Recognize the business environment surrounding each site and the third-party operator
- Work with Transload partners to identify net new prospects for CPKC.
- Oversee Transload prospects from conception to implementation.
- Provide rate quotes for transload and delivery (T&D).
- Build connections with local service design, customer service, and train and engine (T&E) staff to guarantee effective and efficient rail service to transload destinations.
- Manage connections with service providers, such as trucking firms, building contractors, and transload and warehouse operators.
- Oversee the administration of rate contracts, pricing agreements, and service agreements.
- Create and oversee capital and spending plans, projections, and MYP.
- Oversee transload facility expansion projects, including high-level design, capital case creation, site construction, and commissioning.
- Back to the risk, environmental, and safety policies of CPKC.
- Maintain and expand CPKC income by managing the network of transload facilities in the designated territory efficiently.
- Assist CPKC Commercial teams in creating affordable strategies to manage transload opportunities.
- Validation, auditing, approving, and paying Transload invoices every month
- Create and carry out short- and long-term strategies to enhance Transload’s whole product line.
- Contribute to the continuous development of policies and procedures of contract administration and pricing
- To market CPKC Transload service, attend customer meetings with sales and third-party operators.
- Attend conferences relevant to the industry and market on behalf of CPKC Transload.
Requirements
- It is necessary to have an undergraduate degree in commerce, accounting, finance, information technology, economics, or mathematics, or to have comparable experience.
- Having an MBA would be advantageous.
- Five years or more of experience is required in a transportation, business, or operations setting
- Familiarity with the CPKC business; and proficiency in multiple functional areas would be advantageous
- Planning and budgeting expertise is necessary.
- Effective project management and negotiating abilities
- Proficient in communicating and possessing an innovative and autonomous thought process
