Job Description

Following all DOT rules and procedures, you will transport petroleum products to businesses, retail locations, and bulk factories safely and effectively as a tractor-trailer delivery driver.

As a professional who prioritizes safety, you will have the chance to work with others to plan daily routes, make sure the gasoline truck is loaded efficiently, and carry out comprehensive pre- and post-trip checks to ensure excellent performance and safety.

Your Responsibilities

Operating a delivery truck with a tractor-trailer while following all DOT guidelines.
Deliver Irving Oil Products to different areas within the specified boundaries.
Work collaboratively with the dispatch staff to enhance route efficiency by suggesting changes to the delivery schedule.
Identifying customers who should be grouped or pointing out delivery areas that provide difficulties.
Make sure the truck is operating up to code by doing pre-and post-trip inspections.
Accurately evaluate trucks, trailers, tires, pins, lights, etc.
Keep up with the various trucks and trailers that you are familiar with.
Respecting all safety regulations and guidelines, load and unload products from storage facilities in a safe manner.
Notify the manager of any risks or dangerous circumstances that cannot be resolved on your own.

Your Skills

Having prior experience with liquid loads is advantageous.
Strong written and vocal communication skills when interacting with dispatchers, load builders, and occasionally consumers.
You must have a basic understanding of math.
Both sound judgment and a few technical skills.
Ability to guarantee product delivery on schedule while taking into account any potential safety concerns and issues that may come up before, during, and after pre-trip inspections.
A strong emphasis on safety is necessary.

Experience

A current, clean commercial truck driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
Class 1 designations with air brakes, WHMIS, and hazardous goods Accreditation
A minimum of two years of experience in commercial transportation (class 1/A) and a high school diploma or GED are prerequisites.
